can you get cable? if so i would recommend virgin media. its not the cheapest but you get a much better speed (unless you live on top of a phone exchange)!

BT is the best for performance and reliability. Never lost a connection yet. I switched to BT from Tiscali after they were hapless in reconnecting me when I moved house. I went for the top Option 3 package at £26 per week, but only because they throw in the HomeHub and Hubphone for free. My contract is up in February and I will probably go back to Option 1 for £17 per week, which has a download limit of 5Gb per month (more than enough for me and most others). I subscribed to Option 3 to basically pay off the Hub and Hubphone over the period of a year with the extra subscription cost. Otherwise you have to buy them for about £100 if you choose Option 1. Bear in mind that you usually get what you pay for, and I will not be switching to another ISP for the foreseeable future.
