How do I know which broadband providers have the highest uptime rate & which ones are the worst in the UK?

I use the Internet for my work and up time is very important for me. I have checked uswitch.com but it’s reviews aren’t written by specialists.
How is Virgin Media (telewest) when it comes to connectivity?

thinkbroadband gives ratings and speed results. Check it out.

    look out for local magazines ,,,they might have done a neutral survey among users …

    else look at mouthshut.com

    else google.com …..one umbrella of internet

    My friend has a lot of problems with his Virgin Media connection. I use BT Yahoo! Broadband, and their connection quality is very good, and the equipment they provide is ideal for long periods of time using the internet. A problem is that sometimes if you try to download a file over about ~250MB, then BT will let you download it so far, before making it really slow – but I haven't had enough tries to narrow it down to just them.
